GKIDS and Anime Ltd. have acquired the rights to Naoko Yamada's latest anime film, "The Colors Within," produced by Science SARU. The film is set to be screened with subtitles and dubbed in various territories this winter.

PLAION PICTURES will manage Italian and German-speaking territories, and CHARADES will oversee sales for the rest of Europe, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand.
The anime, directed by Naoko Yamada and produced by Science SARU, is scheduled to debut in Japan on August 30. The story revolves around Totsuko, a high school girl with the ability to perceive the emotions of others as "colors." The film explores her interactions with a diverse cast of characters, including a woman with a captivating color and a boy passionate about forming a band.
The synopsis by GKIDS is:
Totsuko is a high school student with the ability to see the 'colors' of others. Colors of bliss, excitement, and serenity, plus a color she treasures as her favorite. Kimi, a classmate at her school, gives off the most beautiful color of all. Although she doesn’t play an instrument, Totsuko forms a band with Kimi and Rui, a quiet music enthusiast they meet at a used bookstore in a far corner of town. As they practice at an old church on a remote island, music brings them together, forming friendships and stirring affections. Will they discover their true 'colors'?
"The Colors Within" will make its premiere at the Annecy International Film Festival in June.
