Pika editions announce the arrival of a new manga in their catalog: Gate of Nightmares by Yoshinori Matsuoka (art), Hiro Mashima (story), and Square Enix (story).
For a long time, the world has been home to Nightmares, terrifying monsters that take the form of humans' nightmares. Emma, a young girl turned Nightwalker, adventurers who use the powers of these monsters to fight them, encounters a mysterious boy named Azel. What she doesn't know is that their meeting will mark the beginning of a fabulous journey!
Adapted from Square Enix's eponymous smartphone game, Gate of Nightmares is a fantasy manga where characters evolve within a world where nightmares come to life in the form of creatures that protagonists must fight... or tame! But that's not all, portals also provide access to Remurias, the world of Nightmares.
The story begins with a meeting that signals the start of a friendship between Emma and Azel. The young girl seeks to join a guild of Nightwalkers and accidentally saves Azel. Together, they will create a new guild and hunt Nightmares while searching for Emma's missing sister. Of course, their adventures will not be easy, and many trials await them along the way.
From character design to storyline, all the ingredients that made Fairy Tail successful are present: friendship, humor, magic, and battles! And it's no coincidence since Hiro Mashima, the author of Fairy Tail and Edens Zero, was directly involved in the game's conception! He designed it, as well as the character designs and backgrounds. This RPG-style game was released in Japan in October 2021.
For the manga, Yoshinori Matsuoka takes care of the artwork, perfectly capturing the master's graphic style! The combat scenes become even more dynamic, and the characters gain freshness under his pen.
