For Disney's Moana 2 theatre release, two animated shorts have been produced in Japan!

Directed by Gensho Yasuda and his studio Yasuda Genshu Study by Xenotoon, the two anime shorts were released on Saturday.

The shorts feature the Japanese versions of the songs from the movie.

The first short film showcases the song "Kaettekita, Honto no Watashi ni" (I've Returned, to the True Me), known as the "We're Back" song in the English version. The second short features "Beyond ~Koete Yukō" (Beyond Go Beyond), referred to as the "Beyond" song in English. Both tracks are performed by Tomona Yabiku.

The studio has additional plans to release videos for other character songs, including Sonim's "Mayoe" (Get Lost in English) for the character Matangi and Matsuya Onoe's energetic "Dekiru sa! Chee Hoo!" (Can I Get a Chee Hoo? in English) for the character Maui.

Moana 2 premiered in the U.S. on November 27 and debuted in Japan on December 6.

Meanwhile, anime-styled brand and NFT project Azuki began streaming Yasuda's "Catch of the Day" mini-short 3DCG anime in August. Yasuda, following the success of a crowdfunding campaign, is also directing his first full-length animated film, Make a Girl. The film had its world premiere in Hollywood on November 3 and is scheduled for release in Japan on January 31.
