Anime Adaptation of Sakamoto Days officially announced

The anime adaptation of the manga SAKAMOTO DAYS has been officially announced.

It has been confirmed that Yuuto Suzuki's manga SAKAMOTO DAYS will soon be adapted into an anime. The anime is planned to be released in January 2025

Along with this announcement, the release date and first images were unveiled. An official website for the project has also been launched, providing key production information.

SAKAMOTO DAYS is an action-comedy shonen manga that follows the daily life of a retired assassin who now runs a small neighbourhood shop. Since its publication in Japan in 2020, the manga has released 17 volumes and has become one of the recent top successes of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.


Synopsis 


In the world of organized crime and assassins, the name Taro Sakamoto is legendary. Adored by his peers and feared by all criminals, his superhuman strength and exceptional skills allow him to complete any mission.

However, after falling in love with Aoi, who becomes his wife and the mother of his daughter, Taro decides to hang up his weapons in favor of a simple apron and opens his own small grocery store. No more hunting bounties; the former top assassin is determined to enjoy peaceful days with his family, even if it means gaining a few extra pounds.

Yet, even the greatest assassin cannot leave the underworld without consequences. When the assassin syndicate places a bounty on his head, his quiet life quickly becomes chaotic once more.

Release Date 


The production committee has confirmed that the SAKAMOTO DAYS anime will be released in January 2025 in Japan, making it one of the new winter 2025 anime titles. The streaming platform for the French simulcast and the total number of episodes have not been announced yet.

The manga SAKAMOTO DAYS is written and illustrated by Yuuto Suzuki, serialized in Japan since November 2020 in Weekly Shonen Jump, published by Shueisha.
