"Bye Bye, Earth" Anime Reveals New Cast and July 12 Premiere Date

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Tow Ubukata's novel "Bye Bye, Earth" has announced additional cast members, released a second teaser promotional video, and confirmed a premiere date of July 12 on WOWOW.

The newly revealed cast includes:

Miyuki Sawashiro as Doranvi
Kenjiro Tsuda as King Lowhide (Justice)
Setsuji Satoh as King Lowhide (Evil)

Yasuto Nishikata, known for "The Seven Deadly Sins the Movie: Prisoners of the Sky," "Hortensia Saga," and "Killing Bites," is directing the anime at LIDEN FILMS, with Sōta Yokote assisting. Hiroyuki Yoshino, of "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion," "Macross Frontier," "World Trigger," and "Izetta: The Last Witch," is handling the series scripts. Character designs are by Yūki Hino, and the music is composed by Kevin Penkin, recognized for his work on "Made in Abyss," "The Rising of The Shield Hero," and "The Apothecary Diaries."

Story Overview:


Set on an Earth where all humans have animal traits, the story follows Belle, the only girl without these characteristics. She embarks on a journey to find others like her, wielding a sword and getting entangled in the conflicts between cities and the outside world.

Produced by Crunchyroll, WOWOW, and Sony Pictures, the anime will be available for streaming on Crunchyroll in over 200 countries and territories.

Background:


Ubukata's fantasy novel "Bye Bye, Earth" was first published in December 2000, illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano. A new four-volume edition with illustrations by Hyung-Tae Kim was released between 2007 and 2008. Ryū Asahi's manga adaptation began in Shonengahosha's Young King Ours magazine in January 2020 and concluded in July 2022, with the final volume released in September 2022.
