"I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince" Anime Announces Second Season

Bandai Namco Filmworks has announced that the TV anime adaptation of Kenkyo na Circle's light novel series "I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince So I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability" (Tensei Shitara Dainana Ōji Datta no de, Kimamani Majutsu o Kiwamemasu) will receive a second season. This announcement came right after the airing of the 12th and final episode of the first season. No additional details about the second season have been disclosed yet.

The first season premiered on April 1 on TV Tokyo and BS NTV, with Crunchyroll streaming it simultaneously.

Directed by Jin Tamamura (The Girl in Twilight) at Tsumugi Akita Anime Lab, the anime features music composed by R.O.N (STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION). The script, series composition, and art management were handled by Naoki Tozuka (Meiji Gekken: 1874). Yuuichi Abe (Dimension High School) served as the action director, Mai Ono (Yo-kai Watch: The Movie) as the color key artist, Yūki Yano as the compositing director of photography, and Ryō Tanaka (Seitokai Yakuindomo) as the sound director at Ai Addiction.

Manga Adaptation

Yōsuke Kokuzawa and character designer Meru began a manga adaptation of the novels in Kodansha's Magazine Pocket app in 2020. Kodansha published the 15th volume of the manga on April 9, with the 16th volume scheduled for release on August 7. Kodansha USA Publishing has licensed the manga.

Story Synopsis (Kodansha USA Publishing)

"Prince Lloyd wasn't always a prince... in fact, he remembers his previous life perfectly: he was a sorcerer. Reincarnated, he decides to continue his studies, prince or not. But his new life comes with its own challenges, including being a 10-year-old! What's a 7th prince/sorcerer to do?!"

The series by Kenkyo na Circle debuted on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let's Become Novelists) website in October 2019. Kodansha began publishing the light novels with illustrations by Meru in July 2020. The seventh volume was released in December 2023, with the eighth volume set to be released on July 2.
