Twin Engine has announced that the Mononoke anime film is set to premiere in Japan on July 26. Alongside this news, the company has revealed new additions to the cast and a second teaser trailer for the highly anticipated film. The full title of the movie has also been disclosed as "Gekijōban Mononoke: Karakasa" (Paper Umbrella).
Joining the cast are Tomoyo Kurosawa as Asa, Aoi Yūki as Kame, and Mami Koyama as Kayama. This announcement comes after the film's initial delay from its original release date last year. Additionally, Hiroshi Kamiya will now voice the protagonist, the Medicine Seller, replacing Takahiro Sakurai.
Directed by Kenji Nakamura and produced by Twin Engine, the film features new staff members such as animation production by EOTA, character design by Kitsuneko Nagata, and music by Taku Iwasaki.

The Mononoke anime series, which premiered in 2007 as a spinoff of Ayakashi - Samurai Horror Tales, garnered popularity for its unique storytelling centred around the medicine seller character.
