Re:Zero Anime's 3rd Season Reveals Premiere Dates for "Shūgeki-hen" & "Hangeki-hen"

The third season of Re-Starting Life in Another World- (Re: zero) has announced its premiere dates during the "MF Bunko J Natsu no Gakuensai 2024" (MF Bunko J Summer School Festival 2024) livestream event. The event revealed new cast members and released the second promotional video, which includes a preview of the ending theme song "NOX LUX" by MYTH & ROID.

The first part of the new season, titled "Shūgeki-hen" (Attack Arc), will debut on October 2 with a special 90-minute episode. The second part, "Hangeki-hen" (Counterattack Arc), is scheduled to premiere on February 5, 2025. Both arcs will consist of eight episodes each. The anime will be broadcast on TOKYO MX, AT-X, and other channels, with streaming available on ABEMA and d Anime Store in Japan. Crunchyroll will stream the series internationally as it airs.

New additions to the cast include Aoi Yūki, who will voice Capella Emerada Lugunica, a Taizai Shikyō (Deadly Sin Bishop) responsible for lust and a leader of the Witch Cult.

The third season also began a limited two-week advance theater screening across Japan on August 30. Alongside the announcements, the anime's staff unveiled a visual featuring the Taizai Shikyō characters (Deadly Sin Bishops).

Previously announced cast members for this season include:

  • Aya Yamane as Liliana Masquerade
  • Shōya Ishige as Joshua Juukulius
  • Kōtarō Nishiyama as Kiritaka Muse
  • Kenjirō Tsuda as Heinkel Astrea
  • Chika Anzai as Sirius Romanée-Conti

Konomi Suzuki, who performed the opening themes for the first two seasons, returns to perform the new opening theme "Reweave," with lyrics by Sabō Karasuya and music composed by Tom-H@ck.

Re:Zero anime first aired in April 2016, with a 25-episode season. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired, and Funimation later released it on home video with an English dub. The anime has inspired two OVAs: Memory Snow and The Frozen Bond, both of which are available on Crunchyroll.

In January 2020, a Director's Cut of the first season was released, featuring new footage and re-edited episodes to fit a one-hour timeslot. The second season premiered in July 2020, after a delay from its original April date due to COVID-19, with its latter half airing in January 2021. Both parts of the second season were streamed by Crunchyroll as well.
