Sōichirō Yamamoto, Creator of Teasing Master Takagi-san, to Debut New Manga on July 12

The June issue of Shogakukan's Gessan (Monthly Shonen Sunday) magazine has announced that Sōichirō Yamamoto, known for Teasing Master Takagi-san, will be launching a new manga in the magazine’s August issue, set to be released on July 12. Although an image for the new series was teased, the title remains undisclosed.

Yamamoto began Teasing Master Takagi-san (Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san) in Gessan mini, the supplementary booklet to Gessan, in 2013. Following the conclusion of his Fudatsuki no Kyōko-chan manga in June 2016, Teasing Master Takagi-san transitioned to Gessan in July 2016 and concluded in October 2023. Yen Press publishes the manga in English.

The first TV anime adaptation premiered in January 2018 within the "Anime no Me" programming block, also incorporating segments of Yamamoto's Ashita wa Doyōbi manga. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan, while Funimation provided an English dub. The second season premiered in July 2019 and was released on Netflix in December 2019.

The third season, Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san 3, premiered on MBS and TBS' Super Animeism block in January 2022, followed by the franchise's anime film, Teasing Master Takagi-san: The Movie, which opened in Japan in June 2022.

Sentai Filmworks licensed both the third season and the film, streaming the third season on HIDIVE. HIDIVE also provided the English dub for the third season, featuring the returning cast from Funimation's original dub of the first season. Sentai Filmworks screened the film in the U.S. in August 2022.

Takagi-san's plot was as follows (From anime news network):

Middle school students Nishikata and Takagi sit next to each other in class. Takagi enjoys teasing Nishikata with embarrassing pranks and jokes. In response, Nishikata creates plans to get his revenge, but he fails when she identifies his weaknesses and capitalizes on them. In some rare instances where Takagi loses the challenge, Nishikata does not feel like he really won. The setting is based on Yamamoto's hometown of Tonoshō on the island of Shōdoshima in the Kagawa Prefecture.
