What is OOO?
The main theme of this work is human "desire," and it depicts the O Medals, coins born from desire, and the battle between humans and monsters over the medals.In terms of acquiring and strengthening new O Medals during battles with enemies, the series' greatest feature from the original "Kamen Rider" of "using the enemy's power to confront the enemy" is brought to the forefront.[2]In addition to incorporating several themes from the Heisei Kamen Rider series, such as the battle for key items, partners, master and disciple, and the suffering of the species, it also incorporates elements from the Showa Kamen Rider series, such as the hero's heroic personality, the process of the protagonist's transformation into a deformed being, and the suffering in between, making it a return to the roots.
After the broadcast of this work ended, plans were made to make V-cinema films of Ankh and Birth,[3] but these did not come to fruition as the main staff were busy preparing the project for Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters.[4]
On August 24, 2022, a new V-Cinema Next film, Kamen Rider OOO 10th: Resurrection of the Core Medal, was released, depicting the final episode 10 years after the final episode of the main series.
Born into a wealthy political family, Eiji Hino wanders the world with only a little money for the day and a pair of pants for tomorrow, and while doing so, he gets a part-time job at the Kougami Museum, run by the Kougami Foundation.However, on his first day at the job, two seniors drug him with sleeping pills and put him to sleep.The two are actually art thieves, and in response to their desires, the seal on the O-medal kept at the Kougami Museum is broken, and the monster Greed awakens from its sarcophagus after 800 years of sleep.However, one of the Greeds, Ankh, is resurrected with only his arm, so in revenge, he takes the cores that make up the other Greeds' bodies.
