The "Jibaku Shōnen Hanako-kun Kamome Gakuen Natsu Matsuri" event, held on Sunday, unveiled exciting news for fans of the Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun series. The second season of the anime adaptation of Iro Aida's manga, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun (Jibaku Shōnen Hanako-kun), is set to debut in January 2025. Additionally, a four-episode sequel of the short anime, After-School Hanako-kun (Hōkago Shōnen Hanako-kun), will premiere on October 7, 2024.

The event also showcased the new logo for the second season.
The second season will air every Sunday at 4:30 p.m. JST on 28 TBS affiliate channels.
Yōhei Fukui, who directed episode 10 of the first season, will helm the second season at Lerche, taking over from Masaomi Andō.
Returning staff includes Yasuhiro Nakanishi (series scripts) and Mayuka Itou (character design).
The After-School Hanako-kun short anime will air on TBS starting October 7, 2024, during late-night slots, with the original cast and staff returning.
The Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun anime project was announced to be "restarting" last December on the official website.
The first season premiered in January 2020, featuring 12 episodes. Funimation streamed it with both English dub and subtitles.

Yen Press describes the story: At Kamome Academy, the Seven Mysteries include Hanako-san, who is rumored to occupy the third stall of the third floor girls' bathroom and grants wishes when summoned. Nene Yashiro, an occult-loving high school girl, discovers that Hanako-san is actually a boy.
The manga began in Square Enix's G Fantasy magazine in 2014, with its 22nd volume released on Friday. Yen Press will publish the 20th volume on September 17.
The first After-School Hanako-kun anime premiered in October 2023, streamed by Crunchyroll in multiple regions ahead of its Japanese release.
The After-School Hanako-kun spinoff manga, launched in pixiv Comic in February 2018, concluded with 25 chapters in October 2021. It was compiled into one volume by Square Enix in August 2019 and published in English by Yen Press in April 2021.
