The story follows Lizel, who unexpectedly finds himself in a world that resembles his own but is clearly different. Instead of panicking, the laid-back noble hires a seasoned adventurer named Gil to guide him through this new world. Embracing the adventure, Lizel decides to explore life in a guild while searching for a way home, treating the experience as a "vacation" of sorts.
Misaki originally released the web novel in January 2014 on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform. TO Books began publishing the light novel series with illustrations by Sando in June 2018, and the 19th volume is set to release on October 15, 2024.
The manga adaptation, drawn by Momochi and with story composition by 8KEY, launched in December 2018 on TO Books' Comic Corona platform. The 10th manga volume was published on April 15, 2024, with the 11th volume arriving on October 15, 2024. The series has sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide.
